Welcome to Swim North West - The North West Disability Swim Squad
We are here for serious swimmers of all ages who have a disability. Our aim is to prepare and advise people from North West England, who enjoy swimming, for entry to National and even International competition. Maybe you have seen the Paralympic Games on TV – maybe you would like to achieve something similar! This is where it starts!
Never too young, and never too old, we are open to those with a physical disability, visual or hearing impairment, or learning difficulties.
Disabilty swimming at all levels takes place in classification groupings, so that you always compete against people with similar abilities.
As well as a Regional Gala, we run regular Squad Training sessions at the world-class Manchester Aquatics Centre (The 2002 Commonwealth Pool).
National competitions are run by Disability Sport Events. At the Nationwide DSE National Open and Junior Championships, the English regions together with Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland compete.
